Are Bright Eyes Like Pink Floyd?

I never listen to new music, classic rock guy, but I was at a local record store looking at vinyls and noticed the Cassadaga album. So I asked the guy about it and he said it was kind of trippy. Are they anything alike? If not, are there any other opera-rock bands? Thanks.

Bright Eyes is very indie while Pink Floyd was progressive. Bright Eyes may be trippy (sometimes), that doesn't necessarily mean they are anything like Pink Floyd.

Bright Eyes use to be (and might still be) emo, so i don't think you'll like him (Conor Oberest) very much. Some of the stuff is trippy, but not in the soaring Progressive rock type of way.

If you want to try Bright Eyes, try Easy, Lucky, Free and Bowl of Oranges.

If you want a more modern Pink Floyd, try Porcupine Tree. They have concept albums (The Sky Moves Sideways is very similar to Floyd's Meddle) and Steven Wilson's guitar playing is very David Gilmour influenced.
pink floyd and bright eyes can't be compared.. they're nothing alike really.. in my opinion pink floyd is much, much better..
Bright Eyes and Pink Floyd are totally different. You can't really compare the two. Its like comparing Elton John with My Chemcial Romance. It doesn't make any sense.
No No No!whoever told you that was on drugs.maybe fevers and mirrors could be slightly comparable to Pink Floyd but ONLY slightly...and that's if i had to pick a bright eyes album to compare Pink Floyd to.Cassadega is more bluegrass country ish.its definitely good if you like that sort of sound.
